These two plans serve different but complementary purposes, and understanding the distinction helps you choose the right coverage for your situation.
A Maintenance Plan covers scheduled, preventive service — filter replacements, UV bulb changes, cell cleaning, and routine inspections. It keeps your system running well and prevents problems from developing.
A Protection Plan covers the unexpected — component failures, electrical faults, and repairs that arise outside of normal maintenance. It is the safety net for what you cannot predict or prevent through regular servicing.
Many of our customers enrol in both: a Maintenance Plan to keep the system performing, and a Protection Plan to eliminate repair cost risk. Together, they provide complete year-round coverage for your air cleaner.
Our Protection Plan covers the cost of parts and labour for eligible repairs on your whole-home air cleaning system. Here is a breakdown of what is included:
Covered Components
- Electronic ionizing cells and collection plate assemblies
- UV-C lamp ballasts and electrical driver components
- Control boards and electronic control modules
- Fan motors and blower components within the air cleaner unit
- Electrical wiring and connection points internal to the unit
- Sensors, indicators, and monitoring components
- Housing seals and duct connection components that affect system performance
Covered Services
- On-site diagnostic by a licensed HVAC technician
- Parts replacement for all covered components
- Labour for all covered repairs
- Post-repair performance verification and system test
- 24/7 emergency service dispatch — priority response for plan members
What Is Not Covered
We believe in being completely transparent about coverage limits. The following are not included under the Protection Plan:
- Consumable maintenance items — filter media, UV bulbs, and carbon filters (these are covered under our Maintenance Plan)
- Damage resulting from improper installation not performed by Constant Home Comfort
- Damage caused by flooding, fire, electrical surges not related to the unit, or other external events
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect system performance
- Portable or standalone air purifier units (plan covers whole-home HVAC-integrated systems)
- Systems that have not had a qualifying baseline inspection prior to enrolment
We offer two Protection Plan tiers to suit different systems and household needs. Both include 24/7 emergency service access and cover parts and labour on eligible repairs.

Contact us for current plan pricing. A baseline system inspection is required before enrolment to confirm system condition and eligibility.
To understand the value of a Protection Plan, it helps to look at what typical air cleaner repairs actually cost without coverage:

Prices reflect typical Ontario market rates as of 2025 and may vary based on system brand, model, and part availability. All covered repairs under the Protection Plan have no out-of-pocket cost beyond the annual plan fee.
A single control board replacement — one of the more common component failures in multi-stage systems — can run $300–$700 in parts and labour alone. A Protection Plan typically costs a fraction of that per year, making it a financially sound choice for any homeowner with a premium whole-home air cleaner.
1. Enrol with a Baseline Inspection
Before your Protection Plan activates, a licensed HVAC technician performs a baseline inspection of your air cleaning system. This documents the current condition of all components and confirms the system is eligible for coverage. If any issues are identified during the inspection, we'll advise you on next steps before enrolment.
2. Something Goes Wrong — Call Us Any Time
When an issue arises — day or night, weekday or weekend — call 1 (888) 675-5907. Our dispatch team is available 24/7. Describe the problem, confirm your Protection Plan membership, and we will schedule a service visit. Plan members receive priority dispatch over non-plan customers.
3. Technician Diagnoses On-Site
A licensed HVAC technician arrives at your home and performs a thorough on-site diagnostic. They identify the failed component, confirm it falls within the covered scope of your plan, and explain what needs to be done.
4. Repair Completed — No Invoice for Covered Work
For all eligible repairs, parts and labour are covered under your plan. There is no out-of-pocket cost for covered work beyond your annual plan fee. If the repair involves any non-covered components or circumstances, we will notify you and provide a quote before proceeding.
5. Post-Repair System Verification
After every repair, we run a full performance check — verifying airflow, electrical function, and integration with your HVAC controls — to confirm the system is operating correctly before we leave.
Our most comprehensively covered customers combine both plans — a Maintenance Plan to keep the system running at peak performance, and a Protection Plan to cover the unexpected repairs that maintenance cannot prevent. Together, they provide:
- Scheduled preventive service — filter replacements, UV bulb changes, cell cleaning, and inspections
- Parts and labour coverage for component failures and unexpected faults
- 24/7 emergency access with priority dispatch
- Repair discounts on any work outside plan coverage
- One provider, one call — for everything your air cleaner needs
Customers who bundle both plans also receive a discount on the combined annual cost. Ask our team about bundled pricing when you call.
A Protection Plan makes the most financial sense for:
- Homeowners with premium or multi-stage whole-home air cleaners — where component replacement costs are higher
- Households where air quality is a medical priority — for members with asthma, allergies, or compromised immune systems
- Homeowners past the manufacturer's warranty period — typically 5 years — when parts and labour costs fall entirely to the owner
- Households that want predictable home maintenance costs with no surprise repair invoices
- Anyone who values 24/7 emergency access and priority service scheduling

When does the Protection Plan activate?
The plan activates after a qualifying baseline inspection has been completed by one of our licensed technicians. This inspection confirms the system is in serviceable condition and documents the starting state of all components. Coverage begins from the date the inspection is signed off.
Can I enrol if my air cleaner was not installed by Constant Home Comfort?
Yes. We accept enrolments for systems installed by other providers, subject to the baseline inspection confirming the system is in eligible condition. If the inspection reveals pre-existing issues, we will advise you on the cost of bringing the system to an eligible state before the plan activates.
What happens if a repair costs more than the plan's parts cap?
Under our Standard Protection Plan, covered parts costs are capped at $400 per repair call. If a repair requires parts exceeding this amount, we will provide you with a quote for the difference before proceeding — you are never billed without advance notice. Under the Total Protection Plan, there is no parts cap on eligible repairs.
Does the Protection Plan cover me if I have a repair in the middle of the night?
Yes. Both Protection Plan tiers include 24/7 emergency service dispatch. Plan members are prioritized over non-plan customers when scheduling emergency calls. Call 1 (888) 675-5907 at any time and our dispatch team will arrange a service visit.
Can I cancel the Protection Plan?
Yes. Protection Plans can be cancelled with written notice. Refund terms for the unused portion of the plan year are outlined in the plan agreement. We will walk you through the terms when you enrol — there are no hidden exit penalties.
Don't wait for an unexpected repair bill to think about coverage. A Protection Plan from Constant Home Comfort gives you parts, labour, and 24/7 emergency service for one predictable annual cost — so you're never caught off guard when something goes wrong.
We serve Toronto, GTA, Hamilton, Ottawa, Barrie, London, Waterloo, Burlington, and communities across Ontario. Enrolment starts with a baseline inspection — call us to schedule yours.
