UV Light Protection Plan — Full Coverage for Your HVAC Air Quality System
A UV light system installed in your home is a meaningful investment in your family's health and indoor comfort. Like any piece of equipment that operates continuously throughout the year, it is exposed to normal wear, component degradation, and the occasional unexpected failure. When those moments happen, the last thing you want is an unplanned repair bill, a long wait for a technician, or uncertainty about what is covered and what is not. Constant Home Comfort's UV Light Protection Plan is designed to eliminate all of that uncertainty. It is a comprehensive, flat-rate coverage plan that combines annual preventive maintenance, lamp replacement, and full parts-and-labour protection for unexpected repairs into a single, predictable plan. No surprise invoices. No waiting in the queue behind non-plan customers. No difficult conversations about what the warranty does or does not cover. Just complete coverage, handled by the same certified team that installed your system. We offer UV Light Protection Plans to homeowners across Toronto, the GTA, and throughout Ontario. Whether your system was installed by Constant Home Comfort or by another contractor, our team can assess your equipment and enroll you in the coverage level that fits your needs. Questions about coverage or ready to enroll? Call 1-888-675-5907 or book online at constanthomecomfort.com.
What Is the Difference Between a Maintenance Plan and a Protection Plan?

Constant Home Comfort offers two tiers of ongoing UV light coverage, and understanding the difference helps you choose the right level for your household.

UV Light Maintenance Plan

The Maintenance Plan is a scheduled service plan that covers your annual UV system tune-up: lamp inspection and replacement, ballast testing, housing cleaning, wiring check, positioning verification, and a written service report. It ensures your system is serviced at the right interval every year, with lamp replacement included in the plan fee. The Maintenance Plan does not cover the cost of unscheduled repairs that fall outside the annual service visit, such as a mid-year ballast failure or wiring fault.

UV Light Protection Plan

The Protection Plan includes everything in the Maintenance Plan and extends coverage to unscheduled repairs throughout the plan year. If your UV system experiences a component failure, a ballast that fails mid-season, a wiring fault, a housing crack, or any other covered malfunction between annual service visits, the Protection Plan covers the parts and labour for that repair at no additional cost. It is the complete coverage option for homeowners who want to know that their UV system will be repaired quickly and at no surprise expense, no matter what happens.

Think of the Maintenance Plan as your annual check-up and the Protection Plan as your annual check-up plus full insurance coverage for everything in between.

What the UV Light Protection Plan Covers

The Constant Home Comfort UV Light Protection Plan provides comprehensive coverage for all of the following, with no additional parts or labour charges beyond the plan fee.

Annual Preventive Maintenance Visit

One complete annual maintenance visit per plan year, performed by a certified Constant Home Comfort technician. This visit includes UV lamp inspection and replacement, ballast output testing, full wiring and connection inspection, lamp housing and reflector cleaning, mounting and positioning verification, UV system performance assessment, and a written service report with documentation of all work performed.

UV Lamp Replacement

Annual lamp replacement is included in the Protection Plan fee for standard lamp types compatible with your installed system. The lamp is replaced at the annual maintenance visit as a scheduled task, not billed as a separate line item. If a lamp fails prematurely within the plan year due to a covered cause, emergency lamp replacement is also covered under the repair provisions of the plan.

Ballast Repair and Replacement

Ballast failures are the most common unscheduled UV system repair, and they are fully covered under the Protection Plan. If your ballast fails at any point during the plan year, Constant Home Comfort will dispatch a technician, diagnose the fault, and replace the ballast at no additional charge for parts or labour. This coverage applies regardless of whether the failure occurs during business hours or after hours, with plan members receiving priority dispatch scheduling.

Wiring and Electrical Connection Repairs

Loose connections, corroded terminals, and deteriorated wiring between the power source and the UV unit are covered under the Protection Plan. Our technician will identify and correct any wiring faults discovered during the annual visit or reported between visits, with all parts and labour included in the plan fee.

Housing and Mounting Hardware

Physical damage to the UV unit housing, cracked lamp guards, and failed mounting hardware are covered for repair or replacement under the Protection Plan, subject to normal wear and tear provisions. Damage resulting from external physical impact or from modifications made to the system by non-Constant Home Comfort personnel is excluded.

Emergency and After-Hours Service Calls

Protection Plan members have access to Constant Home Comfort's 24/7 service line with priority dispatch. If your UV system fails outside of regular business hours, on a weekend, or on a holiday, your call is treated as a priority and dispatched ahead of non-plan customers. Emergency service call fees are waived for Protection Plan members for covered repairs.

Priority Scheduling for All Service Calls

Throughout the plan year, Protection Plan members receive priority scheduling for all service requests, including the annual maintenance visit. During peak seasons when technician availability is at its highest demand, this priority access ensures that your system is serviced promptly without extended waits.

What the UV Light Protection Plan Does Not Cover

Complete transparency about exclusions is part of how Constant Home Comfort operates. The following are not covered under the UV Light Protection Plan.

  • Damage resulting from external physical impact, flooding, fire, or other events outside the normal operating environment of the HVAC system
  • Repairs required as a result of modifications, adjustments, or installations performed by personnel other than Constant Home Comfort technicians
  • Replacement of the entire UV unit if the system has reached the end of its useful service life and the cost of component-level repair is not economically justified; in this case, our technician will provide an honest replacement recommendation with transparent pricing
  • Specialty or proprietary lamp types that are not available through standard distribution channels and carry a significantly higher parts cost than standard replacement lamps; our team will advise at enrollment if your system uses a non-standard lamp
  • Repairs to HVAC system components other than the UV light system itself, including the furnace, air conditioner, air handler, or ductwork; these components are covered under separate Constant Home Comfort HVAC protection plan options
  • Consumable items other than the UV lamp, such as air filters, which remain the homeowner's responsibility to replace at the appropriate interval

If you have any questions about whether a specific scenario is covered under the Protection Plan, call our team at 1-888-675-5907 before enrolling. We will give you a straight answer.

How the Protection Plan Relates to Your Manufacturer Warranty

Many UV light systems come with a manufacturer warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship for a defined period, typically one to five years depending on the brand and component. Understanding how the Protection Plan works alongside, and eventually beyond, that manufacturer warranty is important.

During the Manufacturer Warranty Period

While your UV system is within its manufacturer warranty period, the Protection Plan complements that coverage by providing scheduled maintenance, lamp replacement, and the convenience of a single point of contact for all service needs. If a warranty-eligible failure occurs, Constant Home Comfort handles the warranty claim process on your behalf. You do not need to contact the manufacturer directly, navigate warranty claim procedures, or argue about coverage. We manage it as part of your plan.

After the Manufacturer Warranty Expires

Once the manufacturer warranty expires, the Protection Plan becomes your primary coverage for component failures. This is where the plan delivers its greatest financial value. A ballast replacement on an out-of-warranty system can cost $150 to $300 or more in parts and labour. A single covered repair in a plan year can fully offset the annual plan fee, and any additional repairs in that same year are covered at no further cost.

For Systems Installed by Other Contractors

If your UV system was installed by another contractor, you can still enroll in the Constant Home Comfort Protection Plan. Our technician will conduct an enrollment inspection to assess the current condition of the system, document its configuration and component status, and advise on any existing issues that need to be resolved before coverage begins. We will be transparent about the condition of what we are covering before you commit to the plan.

The Financial Case for a UV Light Protection Plan

The Protection Plan is designed to replace unpredictable repair costs with a single, predictable annual fee. Here is what the numbers look like in practice.

Without a Protection Plan, a typical year of UV system ownership involves the cost of an annual service call and lamp replacement, approximately $150 to $250 depending on the service provider and lamp type. This is the baseline, and it is roughly what the Maintenance Plan costs. The Protection Plan adds coverage for unscheduled repairs on top of that baseline.

Consider what unscheduled repairs cost without coverage. A ballast failure that requires a service call, diagnosis, and parts replacement typically runs $200 to $350 or more. An after-hours emergency call carries an additional premium. If two component-level repairs occur in a single plan year, the out-of-pocket cost without coverage can easily reach $500 to $700 or higher.

The Protection Plan converts that unpredictable range into a single known number. For most Ontario homeowners, the plan pays for itself if even one unscheduled repair is needed during the plan year. For households with older UV systems, systems in challenging environments, or simply homeowners who value the peace of mind of knowing there will be no surprise bills, the financial case is straightforward.

How to Enroll in the UV Light Protection Plan

Enrolling in the Constant Home Comfort UV Light Protection Plan is straightforward. Here is how the process works.

Step 1: Call or Book Online

Contact Constant Home Comfort at 1-888-675-5907 or visit constanthomecomfort.com to express interest in the Protection Plan. Our team will ask a few questions about your UV system, including the brand and model if known, the approximate date of installation, and whether the system has experienced any recent issues.

Step 2: Enrollment Inspection

For systems installed by Constant Home Comfort within the past 12 months, enrollment is straightforward and typically does not require an additional inspection. For systems that are older or were installed by another contractor, our technician will conduct an enrollment inspection to assess the system's current condition. This inspection ensures that we are not enrolling a system that has existing undisclosed issues, and it gives you an honest picture of your equipment's current health. If remediation is required before coverage can begin, we will quote any necessary work transparently before you commit.

Step 3: Plan Activation and First Scheduled Visit

Once enrolled, your Protection Plan is active immediately for unscheduled repair coverage. Your first annual maintenance visit will be scheduled at a time convenient for you, and from that point forward, Constant Home Comfort manages the annual scheduling on your behalf. You will receive a reminder before each annual visit and a service report after every technician visit to your home.

Step 4: Ongoing Coverage and Support

From the moment your plan is active, any covered issue with your UV system is handled by calling 1-888-675-5907. Plan members are identified in our system at the time of the call, dispatched with priority, and never asked to provide proof of coverage at the door. Our technicians arrive knowing your system's history, the components installed, and what your plan covers.

Bundle Your UV Protection Plan with a Full HVAC Protection Plan

For complete home comfort coverage, Constant Home Comfort offers HVAC Protection Plans that cover your furnace, air conditioner, and heat pump alongside your UV light system. Bundling your UV Light Protection Plan with a full HVAC Protection Plan gives you a single annual fee, a single point of contact for all equipment service needs, and the peace of mind of knowing that your entire home comfort system is covered from one trusted provider.

Many Ontario homeowners who have experienced the financial impact of an unexpected furnace or air conditioner repair understand the value of protection plan coverage intuitively. Extending that same coverage to your UV light system ensures that your indoor air quality equipment receives the same level of care and protection as your primary heating and cooling equipment.

Ask our team about bundled HVAC and UV Light Protection Plan options when you call 1-888-675-5907. We will build a coverage package that fits your equipment, your home, and your budget.

Frequently Asked Questions: UV Light Protection Plan

Is the Protection Plan the same as an extended warranty?

The Protection Plan shares some characteristics with an extended warranty in that it covers parts and labour for component failures beyond the manufacturer warranty period. However, it is broader in scope because it also includes scheduled annual maintenance and lamp replacement, which are not covered under any standard manufacturer warranty. Think of it as a combination of a service agreement and extended repair coverage, rather than a pure warranty extension.

Can I cancel the Protection Plan if I no longer need it?

Yes. Constant Home Comfort Protection Plans are not long-term lock-in contracts. If your circumstances change, you can cancel your plan with appropriate notice and receive a pro-rated credit for any unused portion of the plan year. We will always be transparent about cancellation terms at the time of enrollment so there are no surprises if your situation changes.

What if my UV system needs to be fully replaced during the plan period?

If our technician determines that your UV system has reached the end of its useful service life and full replacement is the appropriate recommendation, we will provide a transparent replacement quote. The Protection Plan does not cover the cost of a complete unit replacement, as this falls outside the scope of repair coverage. However, as a Protection Plan member, you would receive priority scheduling for the replacement installation and the benefit of our standard installation warranty on the new equipment. We will be straightforward about this distinction at enrollment and throughout the plan period.

How is the Protection Plan different from the rental programs offered by other companies?

The key difference is ownership. With a Constant Home Comfort Protection Plan, you own your UV light system outright. The plan covers the cost of keeping it maintained and repaired, but the equipment belongs to you and transfers with your home as an asset. A rental program means you never own the equipment, you are committed to ongoing monthly payments indefinitely, and the agreement may be registered against your property title. The Protection Plan gives you the service convenience of a rental without any of the ownership or contractual drawbacks.

Does the Protection Plan cover UV systems installed by other companies?

Yes, subject to the enrollment inspection described earlier in this page. If the system is in serviceable condition and uses components for which we can source replacement parts, we can extend Protection Plan coverage to systems installed by other contractors. If the enrollment inspection reveals issues that need to be addressed before coverage can begin, we will quote that work separately and transparently before you commit to the plan.

How do I make a service call as a Protection Plan member?

Simply call 1-888-675-5907 at any time, day or night. Identify yourself as a Protection Plan member and describe what you are experiencing with your UV system. Our dispatch team will confirm your coverage, prioritize your call, and schedule the earliest available certified technician. There are no forms to complete, no prior authorization required, and no service call fees for covered repairs. One call is all it takes.
