product description
Power Vent Gas Water Heaters
Power Vent Gas Water Heaters are designed for high performance and flexible installation. A built-in rotatable blower allows for both through-the-wall and through-the-roof venting, with venting distances of up to 180 feet using 4-inch vent pipe. This design makes the system an excellent option for converting from an electric water heater to a gas water heater, especially in installations where traditional chimney venting is not available.
Certain models are ENERGY STAR® qualified, offering an industry-leading Energy Factor rating. The product line also includes the only 75 USG ENERGY STAR® qualified water heater currently available, providing high-capacity, energy-efficient hot water solutions.
These water heaters are available for both natural gas and propane fuel types, allowing flexibility based on the available fuel source. 50 USG and 75 USG models are also available with side connections, making them suitable for combination applications such as hydronic heating systems.
The units feature the exclusive TankSaver™ design, which helps extend tank life by reducing corrosion. CFC-free foam insulation improves energy efficiency by minimizing heat loss.
For convenient operation, the water heater includes automatic gas control, allowing easy temperature adjustments. It also uses energy-efficient electronic ignition, which eliminates the need for a standing pilot and improves overall efficiency.
These systems are CSA International certified and FVIR compliant (Flammable Vapor Ignition Resistant) for enhanced safety. Venting can be completed using ULC S636 approved PVC, CPVC, or polypropylene vent piping, providing flexibility during installation.
Installation manuals and specification sheets are available for multiple model configurations, including ENERGY STAR® models with a 0.70 Energy Factor (2013 design), previous ENERGY STAR® models with a 0.67 Energy Factor, and standard models. A product notice issued on August 16, 2013 addresses information related to the rating plate and manifold pressure labeling.
